My first wedding in South Bend, Indiana. I met Brooke and Joe at the St. Joseph Catholic Church right before their wedding. Brooke got ready upstairs while Joe greeted guests and family members.
After the ceremony we headed over to a park in the area with the bridal party to take some photos. A couple of other weddings were there too but there was enough room for everyone. There was a fun pedestrian bridge that we used as well as a spacious lawn that was good for the group since they had 20 people total in the wedding party!
After the photos we went to the Palais Royale which is in downtown South Bend. They had a Alice in Wonderland themed weddings which was fun. Crazy colors everywhere and lots of purple, black and white. There was a little girl dressed up as Alice and cupcakes that read “eat me” to complete the theme. I didn’t have a lot of time for getting ready shots but happened to be hanging out with the bride and bridesmaids when she whipped this out.

They were great sports about it even though we had to start early (8am) due to my needing to be in South Bend for a wedding at noon which is a couple hours away. The weather was great and there weren’t very many people out (big surprise) so we had a good hour and a half of taking fun picures. They both have great senses of humor and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next year in Indianapolis!
