Ceremony: Walton Island
Reception: Heritage Ballroom

Quite obviously they’re Sox fans

What a fun wedding! I love when weddings have themes. There are more black and white pictures than usual in this post since I feel like they go well with the old Hollywood glamour theme. I was there four hours before the ceremony which gave me plenty of time to get the details as well as shots of the girls getting ready. Nikki got ready at the ceremony location which was the Al Ringling Theatre in Baraboo, Wisonconsin which first opened in 1915. After the ceremony we took a drive around the block in an old Mustang and then took some more portraits at the town square and the steps of City Hall. The reception was held in the nearby town of Wisconsin Dells at the Wintergreen Resort.

I love the backlight!

Looks like an old Hollywood headshot.

The end of the trilogy for the weekend. I started at Karen’s mom’s house where she was getting ready. The St. Hedwig Catholic Church where the ceremony took place was only a few blocks away. After the ceremony Karen requested that we take the family photos outside which I was thrilled with! Much better light than inside and since everyone was already outside after watching them exit the church it was really fast to do. Good thing since we went downtown to take photos at Millenium Park and Museum Campus. I didn’t think we’d have enough time and we ended up being late for the reception at the Wyndham Drake Oak Brook but I’m glad we did. Even on a Sunday we saw at least five other wedding parties who were there at the same time as us trying to get the photos with the Chicago skyline. Popular thing to do!

I arrived early while Karen was still getting ready and got this shot of Karen’s bouquet on the porch.

I love when people stand next to the window since that’s where the best natural light is.

What an amazing church!! I only had to climb seven flights of stairs to get this shot.

Catholic ceremonies last a while so it’s nice when they provide chairs

Cute kiss!!

Karen’s beaming and Juan doesn’t look unhappy.

Exiting the church.

At Millenium Park in downtown Chicago. So many well wishers and people were even taking their own photos of the wedding party!

Karen really wanted pictures with the skyline and even though the parking situation stresses me out.

The boat coming up had another wedding!

Perfect weather! The weekend could not have been more perfect. Overcast but no rain, what I wish for (and actually get frequently) right before every wedding
Sarah and Andrew were married at the Bolingbrook Golf Club in an outdoor ceremony. Sarah’s grandfather is a photorapher as well and took the photos of his granddaughter getting ready while I stayed at the ceremony and got photos of the guests arriving and details. Her dad was the officiant for the ceremony and started to get emotional at the beginning but did a great job once he got started. After the ceremony we went to Joliet Union Station to take some formal portraits and then finished up with a few more or Sarah and Andrew at the golf club.

Labor Day weekend was definitely a popular one for weddings. I shot three last weekend and it started with Jenna and Luke’s wedding in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I was so excited to get to this wedding that I got a warning for speeding. Seriously, I did. I was only going 68 in a 55 mph zone so it wasn’t too bad and everyone else was doing it! That excuse never works though. Let me also add that this was the day before and not the day of the wedding for anyone who thinks I may have been running late!
I started at the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish near downtown Oshkosh. Jenna got ready in a room at the church while guests arrived. Her sisters who were her bridesmaids also sang during the ceremony and played the piano…talk about multi-tasking! Afterwards, we took some formal portraits near the church before Jenna and Luke got in his decorated 1959 Ford to go to the reception.
At the reception they had a photo displayed near the cake of them from when they dated in high school!

My first wedding in South Bend, Indiana. I met Brooke and Joe at the St. Joseph Catholic Church right before their wedding. Brooke got ready upstairs while Joe greeted guests and family members.
After the ceremony we headed over to a park in the area with the bridal party to take some photos. A couple of other weddings were there too but there was enough room for everyone. There was a fun pedestrian bridge that we used as well as a spacious lawn that was good for the group since they had 20 people total in the wedding party!
After the photos we went to the Palais Royale which is in downtown South Bend. They had a Alice in Wonderland themed weddings which was fun. Crazy colors everywhere and lots of purple, black and white. There was a little girl dressed up as Alice and cupcakes that read “eat me” to complete the theme. Here are some pictures from their wedding…

I didn’t have a lot of time for getting ready shots but happened to be hanging out with the bride and bridesmaids when she whipped this out.

Here comes the bride.

The stunning church.

The rings.

Brooke’s personality coming out during the formal portraits

The flowers that match the reception theme.

Whew! That’s a lot of people to fit in a picture.

Love the expression on Brooke’s face.

I don’t see these chair covers very often.

Crazy cake.

The first dance.

Fun feather centerpieces.

Having fun!
